Security, attire, weather, chapter-hosted expenses, and dining details from the field guide.
Bring a photo ID. Most venues use magnetometers and X-ray screening. Leave liquids (including water), food and beverages, aerosols, non-medical sprays, pointed objects, bags larger than 18 x 14 x 8.5 inches, weapons or replicas, knives, mace, pepper spray, razors, and box cutters at the hotel or on the bus. Pens and pencils are permitted; water may be carried between venues, but not inside.
Business casual attire appropriate for the Capitol is requested. Tie not required. Comfortable shoes are encouraged. Flip-flops and rubber slides are prohibited, as are shorts, tank tops, and hats. The optional Dome Tour involves more than 300 steps and sustained stair climbing. We ask, but do not require, elevated attire for dinner at the National Archives.

Friday-Sunday · The Hay-Adams · 7:00-9:00 AMFriday and Sunday: fruit and berries, yogurt, granola and honey, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, applewood-smoked bacon, Virginia chicken sausage, pastries, bagels, and muffins. Saturday: fruit and berries, yogurt bar, vegetable and egg-white frittatas, oatmeal and muesli, breads, gluten-free muffins, and fresh juices.
Old Ebbitt Grill · 12:15 PMTwo-course plated lunch with salad. Entrée choices: half chicken, salmon, filet mignon, market catch, pasta bolognese, jumbo lump crab cake, cauliflower steak, or vegetable fettuccine.
National Archives · 7:00 PMCocktail hour with local Virginia oysters, lemon-herb chicken skewers, and whipped burrata. Dinner includes grilled peach and goat cheese salad; a choice of Maryland crab cake, hand-cut filet mignon, or spring pea ravioli; and cherry blossom panna cotta. Premium open bar and tableside wine pairings are included.
